CP Group, the Vietnamese branch of Charoen Pokphand Group—one of the world’s largest agribusiness and food conglomerates—is known not only for its scale but also for its commitment to sustainable development and employee well-being. When planning its new 9-storey headquarters in Dong Nai, the company envisioned more than a modern workspace. It aimed to create a healthy, human-centered environment that could support productivity, connection, and comfort. The architectural centerpiece, a sweeping “Green Spine” atrium designed by MH Architects, embodied this ambition—but also introduced significant acoustic complexity, with sound able to travel across multiple levels. At the same time, executive areas, a rooftop MEP zone, and a vibrant social lounge required tailored noise control strategies to protect privacy, focus, and comfort—all without compromising the building’s pursuit of LEED Platinum certification.

Delhom Acoustics was involved from the earliest design stages, enabling us to integrate acoustic strategy directly into the architectural vision. Working closely with MH Architects, we tackled the “Green Spine” atrium—a striking visual feature that risked turning into a vertical echo chamber. We implemented reverberation treatments and zoning strategies to limit sound propagation between floors.

In open-plan areas, we defined absorbent finishes across ceilings, walls, and furniture to maintain speech clarity and reduce distraction. For meeting rooms and executive spaces, we specified glazed partitions offering acoustic privacy without disrupting visual openness. We engineered silencing and vibration control systems to isolate rooftop HVAC noise from the executive floor below. The social lounge—used for live cooking and karaoke—was treated to contain noise within, ensuring activity didn’t affect adjacent workspaces. All interventions supported CP Group’s LEED goals while enhancing everyday comfort.

CP Group’s new headquarters is a model for high-performance workplace design, where acoustic comfort enhances daily operations and employee experience. Thanks to early planning and close collaboration with MH Architects, the building now supports both focused work and dynamic collaboration across its nine floors. The “Green Spine” retains its openness and daylight while no longer acting as an echo chamber. Executive areas are shielded from mechanical disturbances, and social zones remain lively without disrupting nearby offices. Acoustic design proved essential not only in achieving LEED certification but also in delivering a truly healthy and human-centered environment. This project confirms that noise control in office buildings is no longer optional—it’s foundational to creating the next generation of sustainable workspaces.
