For KUDOS — the leading 3D & Gaming Art Production Studio in Asia — the design of its new Shanghai agency office required a comprehensive acoustic study tailored to an exceptionally diverse range of technical spaces. The office layout included sound rooms, mixing rooms, foley rooms, broadcasting rooms, and more — each demanding specific sound treatments to support opti mal performance. The challenge lay in developing a multi-layered acoustic strategy that could deliver good listening conditions, verbal clarity, and sound insulation between highly sensitive areas. Compounding these technical constraints was a tight construction timeline, which required agile coordination and fast decision-making to meet acoustic, architectural, and scheduling requirements.
In partnership with SPARK Design and JLL, the Delhom Acoustics team in China was entrusted with delivering a full acoustic consulting service for this one-of-a-kind workplace. Our work began with an on-site audit to assess existing background noise levels. This was followed by a detailed review of the architectural layout to highlight potential acoustic risks and anticipate any technical or spatial constraints. Throughout the project, our team conducted simulations and technical analyses to develop a solution that aligned with the budget, the design, and the compressed schedule. Close collaboration with project stakeholders allowed us to integrate solutions that addressed all three of KUDOS’ core acoustic goals: listening comfort, airborne insulation and privacy, and ventilation noise control.
Thanks to this early involvement and a collaborative process, the project achieved a high level of acoustic comfort across all designated spaces. The Shanghai office is now fully operational, offering an engaging and quiet working environment that empowers KUDOS’ artists to perform at their best. The final result is a workspace where office acoustics meet both technical requirements and creative aspirations. We’re grateful for the trust and support from the teams at KUDOS, SPARK Design, and JLL, and proud of the dedication shown by our Shanghai acoustic consultants who made this project a success.
