When Sun Group brought the Hilton Curio Collection to Phu Quoc for the first time, the ambition was not only to build a destination, but to deliver world-class acoustic comfort matching the expectations of an elite, international clientele. As a renovation project, the building came with architectural and technical constraints that required precise evaluation and adaptation. Set near busy tourist zones, exposed to road traffic, sea wind, and coastal sound dynamics, the hotel needed more than aesthetic elegance—it demanded acoustic precision across all zones: guestrooms, lounges, meeting rooms, and dining areas.
For Hilton, noise control is a cornerstone of guest satisfaction and brand loyalty. Any misstep—whether sound traveling between rooms, reverberation in social areas, or intrusive background noise—could compromise that promise. From the very beginning, the challenge was clear: adapt an existing structure to meet global luxury hospitality standards, while preserving design intent and optimizing investment.
Delhom Acoustics was entrusted with a full-scope acoustic consultancy, beginning with on-site measurements and diagnostic assessments to evaluate the existing sound performance of the renovated structure. Before advising on any acoustic treatment, our engineers conducted detailed simulations and studied the project’s specifications in depth, ensuring that every recommendation was tailored to the building’s constraints and Hilton’s strict standards. This early phase allowed us to propose cost-effective, technically sound solutions adapted to the renovation context.
Our team advised on high-performance façade and roof insulation systems to shield interior spaces from external noise sources such as nearby roads, tourist activity, and coastal exposure. We developed airborne and impact sound insulation strategies for the guestrooms, preserving comfort and discretion between rooms. In the restaurants, lobby, and bar, we implemented targeted reverberation control treatments, striking the balance between lively ambiance and acoustic clarity.
We also addressed technical equipment noise, designing isolation solutions for HVAC systems and generators to limit both mechanical vibration and background sound. Throughout the project, acoustic finishes and materials were selected to align with the architectural direction led by HTT and the Hilton Curio brand’s global identity—ensuring acoustic excellence without compromising design integrity.
The Curio Collection in Phu Quoc now stands as a flagship of acoustic excellence in luxury hospitality renovation. Inside, guests experience calm and privacy, whether in the intimacy of their rooms or the energy of social areas. Speech intelligibility and ambient comfort are preserved even in high-capacity zones, and mechanical noise has been expertly subdued to ensure an uninterrupted stay.
This project also deepens the trust between Delhom Acoustics and Sun Group, following previous collaborations like Ba Na Hills. Thanks to early coordination and Sun Group’s understanding of the strategic value of acoustics, the hotel now combines iconic beachfront design with invisible acoustic precision—a defining feature for any 5-star guest experience.
