UFC FIT Lanhai marked the brand’s first flagship in mainland China, designed to deliver a premium high-performance fitness experience. With intensive activities such as cardio, strength training, Muay Thai, and group classes taking place simultaneously, the space presented major challenges in impact noise, structure-borne vibration, and sound transfer between zones.
Set within a mixed-use building, the gym also had to comply with strict acoustic regulations to avoid disturbing adjacent tenants, a common issue in fitness centers. The challenge was to ensure optimal sound insulation and internal sound clarity, while preserving the design integrity and achieving RESET Certification.
We conducted a full acoustic study, including onsite measurements, predictive modelling, and tailored design recommendations. Our acoustic strategy focused on:
- Impact noise control through floating floors and decoupled partitions.
- Reverberation management using discreet solutions such as flocked ceilings, PET felt wall panels, and coconut fiber absorption, integrated seamlessly into the architectural vision.
- Speech intelligibility optimization for coaching zones and music clarity in cardio areas.
- Noise insulation between adjacent rooms to ensure classes could run without interference.
We collaborated closely with the client, contractors, and designers to verify performance throughout construction and integrate all treatments without disrupting the visual aesthetics.
The result is a noise-controlled, high-energy space where members can train with full focus, without distraction, echo, or discomfort. Impact and airborne noise are contained, and sound quality is adapted to each functional area.
As the first gym globally to receive four RESET certifications, UFC FIT Lanhai sets a new standard for well-being in sports environments, with acoustics playing a key role. Whether boxing, lifting, or stretching, users experience clarity, comfort, and performance, backed by Delhom’s acoustic engineering expertise.
