Chamber28 KTV is not your typical karaoke venue. Designed by Studio8 as an all-day entertainment destination in the heart of Beijing’s vibrant Sanlitun district, the venue offers much more than singing booths—it offers a multi-sensory journey through natural phenomena, each room evoking a different temperature, materiality, and mood. But creating an immersive experience for guests also came with complex acoustic challenges.
With multiple themed rooms in close proximity, sound insulation between spaces became a critical concern. High-decibel music, vocal projection, and bass vibrations risked bleeding into neighboring rooms—especially disruptive in a venue where privacy, intimacy, and sonic clarity are key to guest satisfaction. Each space demanded custom reverberation control, tailored to its size, shape, and material palette. Above all, the acoustics had to blend seamlessly with Studio8’s atmospheric design, where every texture, light effect, and surface plays a role in the overall experience.
Delhom Acoustics was involved early in the process, providing full-scope acoustic consultancy closely coordinated with Studio8. Before proposing any treatments, our engineers conducted on-site evaluations and predictive simulations to fully understand the sound behavior of the venue. This step allowed us to optimize solutions that respected both the design intent and the technical needs of a high-performing KTV.
We advised on the acoustic separation of each room, specifying partition characteristics, flanking detail treatments, and implementation precautions to achieve strong sound insulation across all zones. For each space, we defined optimal reverberation times based on function and volume, integrating sound-absorbing finishes in coordination with the selected materials—from translucent marble and brushed metals to red lava stone and layered lighting installations. Our role also extended to the integration of soundproofing within public areas and technical spaces, ensuring the whole venue maintained acoustic balance.
Today, Chamber28 KTV delivers an exceptional level of acoustic comfort, helping define it as one of Beijing’s most refined entertainment destinations. Each private room offers crystal-clear sound and complete privacy, with tailored reverberation that enhances the immersive theme—from the icy shimmer of Aurora Borealis to the warm intensity of Magma. By combining architectural creativity with technical acoustic precision, this project proves how sound quality is not just a functional feature—it’s part of the experience. And when done right, it becomes invisible, unforgettable luxury.
