In Onet-le-Château, the new Les Clarines nursing home breaks with the traditional model of retirement homes on the periphery of towns. Located in the heart of the urban centre, this large-scale project aims to accommodate 70 residents in a facility that is open to the neighbourhood, with a communal space, a restaurant, shops and a central park with trees shared with local residents.
The challenge is a dual one: to guarantee a warm and peaceful living environment for highly vulnerable residents (those with high dependency, cognitive or psychiatric disorders, and young adults receiving medical care), while also being part of a social and intergenerational project that is open to the outside world. In this context, acoustics in retirement homes play a key role in preserving the peace and quiet of residents despite the mix of uses, the density of activities, and the numerous exchanges between users.

Our team is involved in the entire project, working closely with the architects and the project management team. Our mission is to design an acoustic strategy tailored to a retirement home that is open to its environment, anticipating the specific needs of users and the diversity of spaces to be treated.
Our services cover:
- acoustic insulation between bedrooms, offices and common areas,
- noise reduction for technical equipment (HVAC, lifts),
- reverberation treatment in open living areas,
- impact noise reduction in circulation areas,
- validation of low-VOC materials and high-performance wood solutions
Simulations and modelling tools (Odeon, CadnaA) enable us to anticipate critical issues and adjust specifications for each type of space.

Currently in the consultation phase, the project benefits from tailor-made acoustic support to ensure optimal quality of life for future residents. Our recommendations enable the design team to anticipate noise pollution risks, integrate acoustics into every architectural decision, and secure performance from the earliest stages of construction.
Thanks to our intervention, the project owner has concrete solutions to limit sound transmission between sensitive areas, ensure a level of reverberation adapted to the hearing abilities of residents, and prevent noise pollution from technical equipment. This project sets a benchmark in acoustics for nursing homes, where sound environments are designed to promote comfort, understanding, and the smooth daily running of a facility with a wide range of uses.
