This project brought together multiple stakeholders with different expectations for the same space. Initially, Delhom Acoustics was brought on board by Groupe Carle and the architecture studio Malacan Martres to support the renovation of a former office building. The goal was to prepare the space for future leasing opportunities, which required compliance with current acoustic regulations. At this stage, our work focused on practical advice and efficient solutions that could meet regulatory standards while minimizing modifications to the existing structure. We advised on floor finishes, partition detailing, ventilation sound levels, and proposed the implementation of acoustic ceilings and carpets. Additionally, we developed an environmental acoustic specification to guide future tenants in respecting acceptable noise levels for technical equipment.
Shortly after, the building was leased by Viveris, a digital engineering company that wished to go beyond minimum compliance and enhance the acoustic quality of the workspace for employee wellbeing. Our previous involvement with the space allowed for a seamless transition into this new phase of the project. Our engineer Laurent was called again—this time to lead a tailored acoustic optimization based on the real needs of Viveris’ teams. He conducted advanced acoustic simulations and modeling, taking into account the layout and use of each room. The goal was clear: improve speech privacy, prevent unwanted noise propagation, and ensure a calm and productive environment despite the constraints of an already renovated structure.
We supported Groupe Carle during the initial renovation by advising on technical noise control, basic sound insulation, and fit-out elements to deliver acoustically compliant office space. The solutions had to be effective yet simple to implement in a renovation context. Later, for Viveris, the scope evolved into a more advanced acoustic strategy. Key areas included isolating the executive offices to ensure confidentiality, acoustically separating the break room—equipped with a television and foosball table—from the adjacent open space, and treating meeting rooms for improved privacy. A critical zone was the server room, which contained equipment that could transmit vibration and noise to nearby spaces like the meeting room. Here, we reinforced the acoustic insulation between rooms and implemented practical, location-specific solutions.
Through this two-phase approach, we demonstrated how acoustic engineering can adapt to evolving needs—helping both building owners and tenants make the most of their space. From regulatory compliance to user-centric comfort, this project reflects the value of long-term acoustic consulting and how it enables smarter real estate management.
