The PureHouses Coworking space in Jeddah was designed as a modern workplace where collaboration, flexibility, and privacy must coexist in harmony. From open-plan work areas to meeting rooms, social hubs, and offices, each zone required its own acoustic character.
One of the main challenges was to ensure speech privacy and intelligibility in shared areas while maintaining a comfortable and natural acoustic atmosphere. The goal was to allow people to communicate clearly without excessive noise or unwanted distraction. The design also had to respect architectural and aesthetic ambitions, integrating acoustic treatments subtly, while supporting both corporate standards and human well-being.
Delhom Acoustics led the acoustic strategy from concept to detailed design, ensuring that every space delivered the right balance between openness and privacy. We carried out acoustic zoning and analysis across all workplace typologies, defining sound insulation targets between workstations, meeting rooms, and social areas.
For each type of room, we developed reverberation time objectives suited to its use. Shorter in focused work areas, and more moderate in collaborative or social spaces, to enhance speech clarity and listening comfort.
In close collaboration with architects and interior designers, we have defined the absorbent materials and refined acoustic finishes such as perforated panels, fabric-covered walls, and high-performing partitions. These solutions were modelled and evaluated to ensure both technical accuracy and aesthetic coherence within the interior design.
By embedding acoustics early in the design process, we helped shape a workspace where sound supports function and comfort. Offices and meeting rooms provide the right degree of privacy, collaborative areas feel vibrant yet controlled, and the overall soundscape encourages both focus and social interaction.
The result is a coherent and comfortable acoustic environment, where sound quality actively contributes to focus, communication, and overall work well-being.
