The SANGHA Toulouse Hotel Bar & Rooftop project, with its 75 rooms spread across levels 3 to 7, formed part of a mixed-use programme combining professional office spaces from the ground floor to level 2 with hotel accommodation across the five upper floors of an R+7 building, each responding to distinct acoustic requirements. The project was developed within the framework of regulations governing noise limitation in hotels and the BREEAM certification, targeting HEA05a for interior acoustics and POL05 for environmental impact, imposing clearly defined acoustic performance thresholds for each space category throughout the design process. The building’s location within Zone C of the Toulouse-Blagnac airport noise exposure plan introduced a specific facade insulation requirement, with an additional 5 dB of insulation sought beyond standard regulatory thresholds to guarantee the acoustic comfort of building users and guests.
We provided a complete acoustic engineering mission across all design phases of the SANGHA Toulouse project, working in close coordination with ATELIER FORMALOCAL as lead architect and CARRERE IMMOBILIER as project developer.
Our mission included the study of airborne sound insulation between spaces, impact noise insulation, and facade insulation (within the airport noise exposure zone), as well as the assessment of noise impact from technical equipment, both within the spaces and on the surrounding environment.
Our recommendations covered the full range of construction systems (shell and core, partitions, floors, ceilings, joinery, floor coverings, absorbent ceilings, and more) as well as all technical equipment planned for the project. Our sizing calculations achieved the required performance levels, in line with both applicable regulations and BREEAM certification (HEA05a and POL05).
The SANGHA Toulouse hotel was delivered in July 2025, with all designed spaces correctly meeting the acoustic performance thresholds required by regulation and BREEAM certification.
